View Full Version : 1986 250R RESTORATION(Barn Find)

So i'M doing this 86 250r trike build.I picked up this trike at a local farmers place for $300 .He had it tipped over in his barn ,the front fender was cracked and the engine was in a box.The gas tank was white,front fender was cracked.I've been slowly fixin her up.I just had the engine powder coated.Just waiting on crank bearings and seals,and it's ready for assembly.ENJOY...

Just finished doing the engine.I ts been powder coated and covers have been polished.Crank bearings are in .Top end will be done on the 16 th of this month.Enjoy.The trike itself has been scrubbed and cleaned.

you dirty dog!! Thats a sweet find for 3 bills. Thats exactly the kind of R i have been hoping for over the years. great find!!, you dont usually find R's like this, its more the old 110's 125's 200's ect. motor looks great.

i polished the covers myself,had the bottom end painted and powder coated the cylinder,the head was also painted.i will post some other shots from different angles.I found my dream trike thats for sure.

dude u did a greatt job polishing..can u give me the rundown on how u did it..i kno how to polish reall nice to but how did u get in all the tight and weird spots soo good??

I forget how long it took ,but i spent a few evenings on it.I used the dremel,and polishing kit.Their is a site i went to that gives you awesome tips .When i think of it i will poet.I didn't think it was to bad for my first time either.Thx Man.

Looks great man amazing job i love how the hubs look painted red, but i would lose the front tire and get a kenda you will have a lot more predictable steering

im always amazed by barnfinds,what the hell is a farmer doing with a 250r anyway? :)
Cant believe after all the episodes of American Pickers theyve never had any 3 wheelers
