Bought an 87 T3 in KS last night. I saw the add in CL and it was listed under auto parts as Kawasaki Tecate with about 20 car parts. So I emailed him thinking is would be a 84-85 and he said it was a 86 or 87. So I assumed it would be a 86. The pics he sent me I couldn't really tell but I could see the 87 handlebar clamp covers. I asked him if it had a key switch and a parking brake. He thought I was crazy that a Tecate would have those. So I get there and sure enough it's a 87. The switch is gone but the bracket is there and it's got the parking brake. And the VIN checked out. I was going to buy it regardless so the fact it was a 87 was a huge bonus.

He said it ran 1.5 yrs ago before it sat and the carb got gummed up. It's got very good compression and spark. But it has a nasty oil leak somewhere. With this and the Cagiva's I need to restore, I should stay busy for quite a while. :)

It was outside of Junction City. I wondered if it was close to you.

Being hidden in the auto parts section was probably the only reason I was able to get it. It had been listed for over a month. I just came across it last week.

Well Tricky, I need to come by sometime and check it out in person and finally meet you. It looks like a great start and should be a easier project for you. Now we need to work on finding a sport bike for Stud so he can stop lumbering around on the Big Red.

We need to talk about a trade possibly for the YT 60 and the trx 90 for all the parts you need to build one of my 350x parts bikes. It will cut into me rebuilding another X, but how many can I truly store anyway.

Whatever, OUR stuff! Kinda like the 200 you snuck in on from Troy! Besides when you trade me the yamaha you won't need the parts anyway.
