ok got the 200x up and running .. i reused the stock harness for the most part.. and a switchblock from an 82R... i ran the taillight wires and it works good at idle... as i rev the bike the bulb gets brighter and blows out... am i missing something here what would cause this and what can i do to prevent this... IE diode resistor or something

You need to have both the headlight and tailight hooked up or the single bulb will blow. The first gen 200x lighting system is unregulated. The lights are the regulator.

You could buy one of these regulators (or other similar models) and wire it up:

Or just hook up the headlight too.

Oh - very cool - that's what I did. I run a pair of Hella 500s. I use the stock stator with the regulator I linked to above just to be sure I don't blow one. Since it's the stock stator, I have it wired to run only one of the Hellas at a time. I might have it rewound someday to run both at once.
