When you are riding on crossruts or off camber whoopdedoos your handlebars don't get jerked around. If you hit a rock in the trail it won't jerk the bars out of your hand. It helps you fight fatigue, you aren't fighting the bars so much.. I have one on my Tecate. The difference is huge riding one with and one without..

The one I have was made for the 84-85 Tecate by RAM I think.

The stabilizers that RAM used back in the day were off a 60's or 70's volkswagen bug. You can still buy those dampers you just have to make the bracketry

So does anyone know what specific model and year vw one will work the ones I'm looking at don't look exactly the same to me, also it would help if I had the length of the steering stabilizer to copare to the vw's one. anyone got one to measure.

where do you put that one the one on the tecate is right where the rad would go on a 85-86 250R theres a girl in my town that has a steering stabiliser on her
crf 150R it mounts to the inside of the steering tube and has an adjuster on the top clamp seems like that would be a better set up

I don't know yet.. :-) It looks like it mounts just like my Tecate. One side on the fender, the other side mounts to the headstay.. We shall see in a few days.. Woot!!
