twist throttle install....help

when i got my 85 250r the guy had an extra twist throttle with it with the cables and all....im going on a long ride friday and want to install it hopefully tonight so i can ride a little tomorrow and get used to it....how do i install it? i know how to get the thumb off and all but from the throttle where does the cord go? i need help putting it on

You need to take the cap off your carb, and pull the slide out. The end of the throttle cable is inside of the slide. It is usually held in by a plastic piece with a screw in it or in an indention held in by spring pressure. Replace the end of the cable on your thumb throttle with the one from your twist throttle. You're going to need new grips too.

i got it on with the help of my dad.....1/4 to 1/2 a twist and its WOT now.....kinda scared to get on it the first time but i guess i just gotta respect my machine and get used to it
