ytm225 cdi testing

can someone tell me how to test the cdi on a ytm225,the manual says bring it to a yamaha mechanic.i tested all the other electronics on the bike and they all seem to be in specs but no info on the cdi,so any help would be much appreciated .

I checked the Yamaha service manual, Clymers, Haynes and Chilton. None give any info.

Of course, the ultimate is to try a known working cdi

but easier to talk friends into trying your cdi in THEIR running trikes.
