Rocker nuts / adjusters almost buried.

Friend called and said when he adjusts the valves on his 250sx, the adjuster screws go down so far the lock nuts almost don't have much to grip to.

Adjuster screw tops are slightly down inside the nut.

Can this be normal by any stretch of the imagination?

Thing runs and idles perfectly btw. and I haven't seen it in person yet.
