I recently purchased an electric starter for my 350x and was thinking about putting the battery box where the air filter box goes and run the air filter with a prefilter coming right out of the carb. The problem I am having is that the carb is slightly pointed up and if I attached the air filter onto the carb, when I put my plastic on it hits the plastic. I am wondering how everyone else is solving this problem. I thought about making a custom boot that bends downward and then attaching the air filter. If someone has pics of their setup that would be great. I dont want it to looked rigged together but make it look like it was suppose to be there.

K&N and Uni's are made in all different sizes and angles.

I understand that but I need to figure out what size filter people with the electric starts are running. Do they use a customized boot or something else?

Anyone?? I am waiting to hear from someone before I go and customize something to work. I have heard people running without an air box but what filter or part number do they run?

I would say leave your air box like Honda intended it and find a donor battery box from another application such as a streetbike or atv and mount it elsewhere. This could be made to look more factory and safer than rigging your airbox. Most of my Polaris atvs have a small battery holder that bolts outside the frame rail under the rear fenders.

I have the goki battery box that is suppose to attach to the side by the grab bar but I dont like the way it looks so I am totally removing the airbox and boots and putting the air filter right on the carb or make a boot and then wrap the air filter in those air filter precharger covers to protect it from dirt. By doing this, you wont see the battery box too much and it will be hidden under the seat and centered on the frame.
