I spent an hour or so with the POR15 engineer and they almost have me convinced that por15 is THE way to seal fuel tanks.

Sounds like they did their homework.

Marine clean, well, cleans them
Metal prep etches it
and the sealer is impervious to fuels and solvents.

The 6 gallon cycle tank kit is 40$
the 25 gallon car kit is 70$

He recommended having a bbq outdoor party and doing a few tanks at the same time and reusing the first 2 chemicals from tank to tank.

No I don't work for them or get $ and still not sure I believe any of it.

Wonder how much a radiator shop charges?

just a thought about summer days and trike fix parties.

(it's 12 degrees F out right now)

I used a POR15 kit on my 250sx tank.

Worked great. I would not hesitate to buy POR15 again if i needed to fix a rusty tank.

I think i got my kit for around $50.

I've used the kits on a 200x and 110 tank now. Good results both time. It is a time consuming process but worth it in the end.

I've used Redcoat but next time I'm gonna use Por15.

Muriatic acid will remove ALL the rust quickly. Be sure to use all protective gear as you can blind yourself and the smell is toxic itself.........

Once the rust is gone, it flash rusts very quick so be ready on a nice clear day with low humidity; Have the Por15 kit in hand and ready to roll!
