Has anyone tried putting on one of these camo wraps before:

I am figuring that one sheet of vinyl would be enough to do all of the plastics. Just wondering if there are any tips to making the install go easier...

Not worth the money, I had my Big Red wrapped & the stuff sucks. Peels & tears easy, blew off with the pressure washer!

Looked into having a trike done by a local "wrapper". It has a life span of about 5-8 years and was going to cost $800-1000! I was wondering about it sticking to plastic but Mondex seems to have answered my question. I do like the look though.

Some one on the internet used camo duct tape. If it pealed he would just cover it back up. and its alot cheaper

I figured it would be about $60 to wrap the trike... Did you use Camoclad or Camo4u on your trike that peeled?

This stuff isn't vinyl, it's cloth. more like a duct tape. Finished wrapping mine recently. Can't get to the pictures right now, it seems pretty sturdy.

Tips:
Save your scraps, just cut them and put it back on the backing. You never know when you might need a little piece for somewhere
Buy some super glue and use it to glue down any seams that aren't sticking well.
Buy some Liquid Nails "Clear Small Projects" adhesive. I used it to go around all the edges underneath the fenders. It's flexible and waterproof, and seals out water and dirt from getting under it. Takes a while to dry, like 48 hours. I used spring clips to hold some areas, removed them the next day after it set up. All told, I probably have 20 hours in covering, but I took my time since Ive never done it before.
Oh, and if you buy it, look at all 4 rolls before you start. Each roll has a slightly different pattern, you'll want to mix them up. I had next to no waste and I ran short- didn't get to cover the trunk lid.

I'm throwing this out there as I've been looking into a carbon fiber pattern, but you can have atv plastics hydrodipped. Its 350-500 for a whole atv plastic set depending on the place, and from what I understand, its permanent. Tons of camo patterns like gun stocks etc come in. Just another option. I think a lot of the hunting focused guys that do this are a little cheaper than the more cosmetic companies.

I used the moose camo kits (that 3wheelsinpa has a link to) a few years back on my 185. With a little prep it came out well and so far held up over the 6-7 years i had it on. It did take some time to plan and put on, and I ended up with extra. Wish I thought of the glue trick as it tended to peel over the years on the high wear area. but i was able to repair it with the extra i had.

the kit was way better than the previous owners paint job - which you can still see on the forks.

hay ktmbk,
Nice job from what I can see. So the kit consisting of 6” W by 12’ L rolls gave you enough to cover the trike???? not bad for the price.
Thanks

I just sent a set of 200X shrouds to have them dipped in the hydro coating stuff. I haven't gotten them back yet, just doing it as a test to see how it holds up and what kind of pricing I'm looking at. It's going through a friend who does business with the place that does the dipping, so I haven't gotten a price back yet. I'm going to check them out myself before I post information on the shop that's doing it. He said that he expected the shrouds to be $15-$30, I don't know yet. I'll post more information on it when I have parts in hand.

I got the price back today for the shrouds, $34.00 for the CF on both sides (complete coverage). Was told they charge by the square inch. I should get them back in a couple weeks and will post pictures. All I know about it so far is that it holds up well on workings guns. I'm going to post a link to the place that is doing them. http://brothershydrographics.com/default.aspx . After I get the shrouds back I'm going to send a set of 200X rears fenders for a quote. They have lots of patterns judging by the web sight, I've only seen a few of the camo, so far but the work is really nice.

I was thinking about doing this to mine also, just not sure if it is worth the money or not, I love the way it looks though

I also did mine like 3wheelsinpa did 3 years ago. It is holding up fine.

I got 5 rolls of 2" Natural Gear camo tape from somewhere online. Took my time and put it on like camo wrap (venting the corners to overlap and such) and it turned out good. Easy to repair and I have good paint and plastics underneath if I get bashed over it. I hunt off or near this thing so I'd rather it hide.

The camo jobs look cool (Tim and Brent). For the cost, you couldn't neat that. I've don't seat covers like that before, I should have stepped it up and bought patterned duct tape.
