So picked up an 85r today for 300 guy said it had no spark well he was right but thats the least of the problems. This topend melted down piston is shot may need to resleeved got a real bad gouge in it and dumped the oil it was more like black water so that's where it stands other than the motor seems pretty sound will keep posted and I will get some pics up.

i bought mine not running too, but it was in much better shape than that...lol

Pics soon started the tare down maybe shouldn't have havent got the 81r back toghter waiting some parts. well I got to the fly wheel and I wanted to cry I think that it was ridden in the salt water a lot the contamination is horrid pics soon guys promis

Isn't the one i just missed then, no spark was the same issue... so they said. Sorry bout your motor, but what you have ia good start im sure.

it came out of norfolk so maybe it is it is a white plastic with blue frame. so here is the round down so far piston smoked crank me be save able don't know yet need to inspect every thing in the am but the tranny looks good the clutch looks good some one has been there before me case has been welded looks like a prof. weld so I'm not worried there but its coming along.

atleast the cosmetics look in decent shape :D but as far as the motor goes :cry: holy sheet!!

yea guy told me it ran before winter if it did it couldnt have been good I think he ran the wrong mix possible brought it home put the compression tester to her and yea 52psi was the top reading.

52 psi is mostly on deaths doorstep, its good to see another trike being put back into running condition. nothing like riding a bike that has been dead for a while.

No i was not in my skivys I was in board shorts it was nice in the garage I had my fire place going in the house and opened the door and put the fan up made it nice and warm. think Im going to put a new crank in it and rebuild this one later for another project coming up I hope.
