Match the part numbers, thats what most people do. If they don't match, no worky.......

It's cause Hondas part system started years ago. When they revive a part to use agin in a new model they sometimes change the number. It can also be a superceded number that reflects an improved part. I swapped the ATC cylinder, clutch, 5 speed trans and main cases, XL kickstart, TLR crank, flywheel, cam and head with a wiseco piston to build a replacement motor for the TLR. Then the TLR cases got XL 6 speed trans, TLR kickstart with ATC cylinder to make a spare engine. As long as you use 5 speed tranns and cases together it all can be interchanged. Same for speed trans/cases. Only the kick shaft itself is different. The kick ratchet gear and idlers must be matched to the smae trans and cases they came from but the shafts, shims, springs etc are the same. This all goes out the window however if you start talking about the auto clutch ATC200s.
