i took a round peice of 1/4 plate and drilled 3 holes to match the ones in the flywheel. i then drilled a big hole in the middle and welded a big nut to it. now i put a bolt in the hole and tighten down

yes, they make a puller for the flywheel, go into Kawasaki and say you have a tecate and you need a flywheel puller, there like $10

there is no 3 holes in the flywheel
i have a harmonic balancer puller, didnt work, a gear puller, didnt work..
so i'll look into the right one from kawasaki, maybe i can find one on the netbecause my local dealer has a bunch of idiots in there, and they dont believe in trikes...

describe the flywheel to us. if it is a kx flywheel, you will need a puller like the 200x

it's about 3 inches in diameter... is has the place for an internal puller, but i was checking to see if there are any other ways before i start ordering...
i'll check on a price from the dealer today...
i found one on pitposse.com
but i dont know if it's the right one (says for older model kx250 and early model motorcross 2 strokes) and it's the same measurements of what i need, but i dont wanna take a chance.. and that only 20 $
Yep, I agree if theres not 3 m6 holes in face of the flywheel, you don't have the stock one.
I'm with 200xbasket that you probably have a KX flywheel. Fear not, it's better than the stock Tecate one as far as reliability is concerned.

so it's a 84/85 kx 250 flywheel... alright
i'll get a puller, thanks.
If I remember right, technically it's 83/84 KX 250 = 84/85 KXT Tecate.
85-87 KX250 = 86/87 KXT Tecate. But any year KX works as long as you use the stator that matches.

on pitposse.com, the part number for the puller is MP1... that is the same puller for almost all the YZ, KX, and CR bikes... alot with others..
my buddy has some old kx & yz bikes, i'll him for his puller, if he has one...
if he doesnt, i'll order one from pitposse
thanks
