Looking to get something to give me a little more space. I am thinking of either getting one of the shed-in-a-box kits with a poly top and a metal frame. Just wondering how long something like this holds up?

Or if I can bring myself to build a shed in the cold I am looking at this kit here:

It will be a lot more permanent but I wish they gave you a materials list so I could estimate the cost.

My good friend uses the tent sheds to store his cars. We have learned that the cheap ones are, well cheap. The zippers messed up in the door and the fabric tore easy in the wind. Look for one with a roll down fabric door that ties instead of zippers. His has velcro as well to keep the weather out. Make sure the fabric is thicker than a tarp. And make sure to anchor it down real good. Trust me.

Hello, in the property we own, we have 3 of those. Aslong as you get a good quality one, its golden for storing vehicles/machinery/bikes in.
I recommend them to whoever doesn't want to build an actual shed. Just as good, but cheaper.
We have 3 20x 15's

Just FYI, I was in the same predicament last fall, and wound up ordering a carolina carport, 20 x 25, upgraded to thicker roofing steel, for about 1600, then putting up end walls with steel studs and siding the whole thing, including 8 foot sliding door hardware,a 36" used steel door and a stationary window on the back. The whole project cost 2550, and i have 6 quads, 3 three wheelers and a 48 dodge in there plus room for my Farmall 130. It falls under a shed in almost every state. This spring, I plan to put 6mil plastic down and 3" of clean stone in it, and adding lights and outlets for Battery Tenders. PM me if your interested, Ill send pics and a better description.

I had one it lasted about 5 years before the wind started to tare it apart at the seams...and you have to make sure its secured permanently to the ground casue the wind will bend the poles in a flash...I ended up tossing mine in the trash..I think if you maintain them right by keeping them tight and secure and keeping the snow and ice off they would last longer..

Was it a cheap one that lasted 5 years?
I am thinking that one of these will work good. Its got 9 oz fabric which should last a while.

It was not a cheapy but the one your looking at looks like it is a better design and would handle the wind/ice better...
mine was a tent style with sides...where as my dad has the grey arch/dome style and he loves his...it looks like the one in the ad...

i bought one during the summer. it is 20' by 12' i think. it is the half round one that is rated for winter and snow load. so far its help up amazing. it ws around $600. all steel frame, heavy duty canopy with zip up doors on each end. also had anchors so wind wont effect it. i have 2 snowmobiles, one 450R 4 wheeler, my 350X and 2 of my FL350 odyssey's in there with still a little more room.

My buddy just got one of those tarp buildings and he put a plywood floor in it to keep it from spreading .. he also said you have to keep the snow off it and keep it from the sides as well. That fast framer fit looks like a joke to me ... if you can't cut a angle or read a plan then you shouldn't own a saw and a hammer

We've had ours for maybe 6 years, and they are still holding up fine. Snow builds = You knock snow off = Easy win

Where am I supposed to post it? Its going to be a home for trikes. Assuming it will hold up. And then I can clear out my shed and have a work bench for putting trike engines on when I work on them. And then with my shed cleared out I can start on my Auto-X project. So it call comes back to the trike. And yet another trike will be back on the trails. But it all begins with getting me enough room to work.

I bought mine from Tractor Supply at least three years ago. It is green so not an eyesore to the neighbors and the snow slides right off of it with a little help. It is great, 12' wide x 20' long x 8' high with a door at each end and comes with I believe 6 30" auger anchors. We have had over 50mph winds and still going strong! Right now it's on sale for 299.99, we were thinking about buying another one for more room. They are a great design, all one piece except for the doors and at least 8-10" overlaps the outside of each door so they are basically wind proof inside and will heat up nice with a portable kerosene heater if you need to work in the winter. The inside is white so we hung a few 4' shop lights in ours, lights it right up inside! The trick is as stated in the manual is to keep them tight to the frame and they last a lot longer. Each end has a rachet style tightener so keep them snug and you'll save a lot of money. Just make sure to have a slightly higher area to set it on and you won't ever need to worry about water on the floor, we used a raised bed of crusher run, worked well! For that price you can't go wrong and we have quite a few trikes in ours! Here's a link, http://www.tractorsupply.com/lawn-garden/outdoor-structures/landowners-garage-1110468

For me its easy, I have a hard wired multi camera security system that will send alerts to designated people when motion is detected or even if they shoot out a camera if they spot it once there is a video loss the alert goes out! I can watch whats happening in and around my property from anywhere in the world all in real time. Well worth the investment. When most people see the VISIBLE camera's it is usually enough to send them elsewhere, my property is covered from all angles with a rotating camera that can do a 360 also. If anyone else is considering a security system don't buy wireless, don't buy 420 TV line camera's, and buy quality the first time and you won't need to worry, even if on vacation. You can set-up your alerts to contact 911, your cell phone, watch your home even from your cell phone, tablet, laptop, or friends house, etc. I don't keep my best stuff in my tent and my garage has keyless entry. Doesn't matter with my system, video is clear, excellent night vision, and if I don't want to use the motion sensor activation you can record for over two months straight 24/7. We are never gone for that long ever so that isn't an issue for us. I can also search my system by date and time if I did leave for a few days, weeks, etc. Between our pets, tools, toys, vehicles, and Insurance discounts its well worth the investment!

I got a 12' 20' shed in a box by Shelterlogic a year ago and have no complaints. It's help up to 50 mph wind gusts ans a 12" snowfall no problem. 2 sleds, 2 trikes, 1 4 wheeler, 2 dirtbikes, and a 4' x 8' workbench with room to spare.
