185s Drive Chain

I put a new front sprocket (10 tooth) on my 81 185s last year but have barely ridden it since. Today I put on a brand new rear sprocket(41 tooth) and the chain does not go down in the sprocket completely. I figure this is a problem with a worn chain and not the new sprocket? The old sprocket was worn down to very sharp points from so many miles on it and the chain didn't have much adjustment left.

you should start by replacing your chain - although normally a worn out chain will fit because of all the pins and bushings being so worn out. Are you sure the sprocket is the same size as the chain?

I ordered the sprocket from Dennis-Kirk. It is the Parts Unlimited one and says it fits 81-82 185s.
