Reciprocating sawS=happiness

So after fighting with my 86 250r to get the swinger out and mushrooming the threAded end of the bolt out of pure anger and stupidity I was left with few options. Long story short I took a sawzall to my swinger tonight and removed it with out even damaging the collars or bushings or frame lol

Anyone else had good luck with this kind of situation? Second does anyone have a spare 86R swinger bolt laying around :)

I used a grinder to get mine out. Lucky you get all new stuff in the bearings kit. Just get a bolt off ebay. Pretty sure there 400es is the same but dont quote me on that.

I had to do that with my 200x it worked great .... I don't have torches and didn't find out about the double hammer method till after I was done

I am happy with the results and lack of damage to the frame. but ya, I am excited in getting this restoration on track.

if you realy whant a swinger bolt out just put a impact wench on it and have some one push the other side thru its the easyest way and you dont wreak it

bcredneck - it is apparent you have not encounter a "Honda Stuck" swinger bolt. I had mine in a 20 ton press and it would not come out - even after heat! Sometimes you gotta cut them out! There is a special way to do it without damaging the frame of the swinger. You'll need some good sawz-all blades to do it though. the Chinese cheap ones are not so good - took me 6 blades to do one side once!

ive had to deal with a few of thease but parts are realy hard to get where i live so i cant just cut them out ive spent over 4 hours trying to pull em presses dont work because its a constant force you need sharp impacts and heat to brake em free i had to heat a IT 125 swinger till it was red to get it free ive also tryed heating a swinger and blowing c02 thru the bolt it slid right out

400ex swinger bolt is a direct replacement and cheap. like 20 bucks.
