Hey boys,

got this for free yesterday. guy said it wouldnt run and it was useless. Sure was!
Cleaned the carb (never seen one nastier) Slapped a clamp on KN on it and wola, Started up 3 kick after sitting god knows how long.

My personal favorite are the old school 18 Duros on the rear, I love the tractor tread design!
All this thing needs are rear master for brakes, rear axle bearings and sprockets. Not even going to wash it, EVER

Id like to thank ATCTIM for the hookup on some decent rear fenders, cant wait to replace the 55 gallon drum models currently sported

My plans are to either sell it or ride the absolute balls of it. NO MERCY! Cant decide yet. Would make a perfect trike to beat the piss outa and not give a damn. Working on this thing made me realize what a POS this aircoolers are to work on, they are so "backwards" to what im used to. Honda definitely got it right moving to the LQ models.

This thing has TF Whore written ALL over it!

I dont think the 2nd gen R's are all that bad, they were a world ahead of the 81-82 in frame design, but the 1st gen are the original pioneers. That 83 R will hang with the liquid R's believe it or not. People say they are slow, but they really can handle their own. The basic bolt on mods always wake them way up, and the suspension is actually suprisingly good, you can easily clear some decent size jumps. I say race that baby! I would love to see a gret MX rider like you show the liquid R riders an trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro handing.

Wow if you think thats a bucket of bolts,I dont.I guess my 200x is utter crap for 200 claMS,busted plastics, rotted thru header pipe, rusted grab bar,and now busted front master cylinder, dry rotted front tire wont hold air.Its got compression So I assume it will run once I get the new chrome dg pipe on it along w the cleaned up carb.

lol eric! not sure what im going to do with these tires yet.

I guess I was a little harsh on the bucket of bolts....... its a beater correction!

it runs and drives around, so I guess I cant complain.

I actually looked at this R a year before this photo. Was going to buy it from the original owner but didn't have the cash. Well, a few pill-heads ended up with it, after beating the snot out of it for a few months, they finally blew the engine ( not sure whatever happened to it ) so they pulled it out and pushed the rest into a fire ....pretty sad. But at least it was brought to my attention and I was able to save it. This is what it looks like now....:D

I have a set of short tractor tread tires, that fit an 8 inch rim, in nearly perfect shape, sitting in my shop. I was given them not long ago and haven't used them yet.
