I picked up a 1980 yt125 a few weeks ago and i finally got it running, but only when it is choked. i removed the stock airbox and now have a UNI filter on it. When I start it, it will run fine for about 45 minutes, then it will start to act up. It just dies. Then gas and bubbles come out of the bowl vent for about a minute. after i let it sit for a while, it will work just fine. I think it could be my air fuel mixture, but I dont know. please help

Sounds like your carb needs to be cleaned, and make sure to have a good fuel filter on it, like a paper element filter. You can get it at any place that sells small engine stuff, like hardware stores. I had a lot of problems with my old YT sometimes, I tried flushing the tank, but the particles would still get through the screen type filter that it had. I had to clean the carb a few times back to back after each ride, got sick of it, and put on a paper filter, and never cleaned the carb again. With the fuel coming out your overflow - it sounds like your float needle is sticking. Take close notice to it when you take it apart to clean it, and make sure it is not worn out.

+,Do you have a vent on your gas cap? Sometimes those clog and vacuum can slow/stop fuel flow.

I have cleaned my carb 3 times, and I adjusted the float height so that is at factory specs. The filter I bought is a foam filter. I don't have an airbox on it, because the stock airbox boot would not fit to the carb. when I had the airbox bolted down, there was about a 1 inch gap to the carb. and it didnt have a cover either. And if I got a paper filter, since there is no airbox, wouldnt it get wet or ruined really quick? I'll take the carb apart again and inspect it.

Sorry to go off topic but i got a 1982 Yamaha Trimoto 175 with racks and rear suspension it that rare of something i haven't seen any whit that rear suspension

^^^yup that rear suspension is rare. Post up some pics. i know a few members will be interested to see it, myself included. Post pics of how the suspension is mounted if you can please. That would be great. start your own thread though.^^^

OP - Put a paper fuel filter on and clean the carb again. maybe try and get some carb parts and swap it around.

i just bought a YT 125 tri moto three wheeler well it had been bored out to a 145 i was told and after rebuild it was parked and sold a few years later to the guy i bought it from he only rode it oncce or twice then parked it well i had weed eat gas mix in it old gas mix he started it up and ran on still doggy well when i bought it and got it home i drained the tank and topped it off with fresh gas mix by the bottle to be 50.:1 needed 6 gallon i only used 5 gallons and it doesn't say was 16 oz with 5 gallons of 90 octane is well anyways it woukld only run with choke 1/3 on and once you gave gas die out but it would only rev high so i took carb off and cleaned the hell outta it 6 times and finally got it to idle right and run right but now when you shift into the 2 higest gears it wants to bog out and die and not wanna go faster so i have to down shift the 3rd and it'll run 1st is to low i always start in 2nd and just run 3rd around my house out in the country i want to get it fixed so i can see wat kidna power she has i can already tell it's faster then the honda 200 three wheeler i rode once in awhile that my buddy has any info to fixing it would be appreiciated also the carb adjustment is as follows turned all the way right and only turned it left 2 full turns and the little flat head screw is 1/4-1/2 turn from tightened down
