ya i know what you are thinking not another ebay carb thread. i hope this one is different. so ill start with a short story

my wife's gio 200 cc quad came stock with a imitation keihin carb. from brand new the gio never ran right so i bought a mikuni to replace it. pilot screw or needle adjustments never could correct the problems. hard starting poor bottom end performance or a stall or bog if you stab the throttle etc etc. these are all complaints that i read about these cheep carbs having, on this site.

just a couple of weeks ago i discovered that the cheepo carb would bolt in place of the stock 24mm carb on my 200x. hell the slides even interchange. so i started looking at the two carbs and the only difference that i could tell was the jets them selves.

so what if you could interchange the jets?
would the correct the problems?

the main keihin jet drops right in place. but the longer keihin pilot did not fit. the only thing stopping the the keihin pilot was was a brass insert, so i took the carb to the drill press and carefully drilled it out, and installed a genuine keihin pilot.

i installed the carb back on the gio today, and if fired right up better than when it was original. once the engine warmed up i had to lean the air screw way out. the only pilot i had lying around was a 42 so its probably 1 or 2 sizes to big.

i still have lots of tuning and testing but so far it looks promising. if this all works out i want to try a cheepo 26 or 28 mm ebay carb on my 200x.

may be we can get keihin performance in a much cheaper package

the first pic is of the brass insert in the cheepo carb
second of the two sets of jets keihin on the right cheepo on the left

Yep got that same cheapo Having a great deal of issues with it. I recomend not buying these and just get a rebuild kit. or a more expensive one.

Bs they sell BS on Ebay.

what if you could drill one passage and jet it up with keihin jets, and it worked like a hot dam

Thanks for all the info big red. I just bought 2 ebay carbs from zoom zoom. They should arrive tomorrow. I recently aquired 2 200s's both have stock carbs. One was junk from water/ age. The other one i thought cleaned up great. However it has the following symptom. It starts on first pull, idle will either be too low, no adjustments seem to help except for turning idle screw in to the point of almost all the way in. Then after you ride a bit, it will be too high. So you screw idle out then it wants to die. Here is the weird part. When you shut the gas off then the bike starts to race with very high idle. So perhaps its a float/needle and seat issue. I hope the zoom zoom carb won't be a dissapointment. But your post will help. I will report back after i try them.

i know on the 110 copy carbs only buy the one that in the listing says oem std, ive had great bolt on and go luck with them there like $49, where as you can also get a copy 110 carb from another seller for $24 they kinda look the same but the cheaper one is pure junk!!! not jetted even close! choke is wrong, just a pos. so im not sure on the 200 carbs but if theres a more expensive copy get that one rite from the start

This days one has to question anything and everything. Even a simple statement like"oem standard" for example i recently bought a new chain that was advertised as "factory spec" when it came. I was dissapointed to find the name of the manufacturer was factory spec. haha they got me.
