texas 185s

since i dont have a car or license yet (i get it in may), i decided to buy something to pass the time. my uncle has a big red. im not sure what year or size, but im working on getting ahold him. i used to ride wheelers (three and four) where i used to live. i moved and my grandma sold them on me.
anyways, its a 1983 185s. i paid $300 for it, and so i got what i paid for. i know its beat up, but im planning on fixing mostly everything that is on it. headlight works, tail light doesnt. it starts on the 3rd pull

feb 11.
-looked at the right wheel and why it would spin freely.
-discovered the problem with the taillight is only a blown bulb.
-gave it a good cleanin
feb 12. just took a few better pics.
- i fixed the right fender with a piece of metal and some rivets.
- checked the spark plug since i was having trouble starting it. it was black from oil burning. i will re-gap it tomorrow.
- i also went ahead and changed the oil
- took a better look at the right wheel. the splines on in the hub are completely smooth and the splines on the axle are ruined. with that said you probably already know its one wheel drived.
- i will be buying new hubs from ebay as well as a new axle. does anyone know the size of the stock hubs?

update feb 19
-during the past week my friend was just pulling at the pull starter trying to start my wheeler so he could ride. i said, "trust me, its not gonna start". i had disconnected the spark plug wire. and he just kept pulling. he somehow broke it. we rebuilt it, but the starter hasnt worked right since. so today i took it apart since i had trouble with it. i found that it has been cracked and someone tried to weld it back together then grind the weld down. so until i get a new one, ill fix the welds and hopefully it will be good again.
-i also replaced the tail lightbulb so now i have tailights.
update march 5
-since mt last update, ive gotten a new axle and hub. it came in on thursday and i didnt realize until friday morning when i walked out the door and saw the box. i went to the skatepark after school, came home at 11, then immediately started working on replacement of the axle. i was up until 2:30 getting the trike apart and the axle off. i had to cut through one of the axle nuts, and one of the hub nuts that hold the hubs to the rim (one on each wheel).
well, thats all for now and probably awhile.
more to come
