Screech!!!

Yet another problem...I started it today(1985 250es) let it run forawhile then I went about 100 yards and it shutoff.It wanted to bog down and shutoff when I tried to start it again.When I did try to restart it it would run with the choke on barely and it made a screech like noise so i shut it off quick...what would make it have a screech noise?It has oil and gas.....Ran perfect yesterday

250es is kickstart, that happened to me a few times, its just too cold with to thick of oil. Let it sit and warm up for a while, 85's have cold start issues.

My bad, I focus more on Yamaha than Hondas. I thought if it had E-start, the electric start wasn't detaching all the way.

It is kick and electric start.I was using the elctric start and every 15 or so seconds it seems like it would want to screech some even though it was already running and I wasnt hitting the e-starter???Now it doesnt do after I ran 20 minutes....

well then it looks like Jason125m was right. Just needs to heat up.

Screech from engine usually is bad. Bearing surface dry and/or siezing. However some screeching sounds can come from intake side. Usually loose filter clamps on rubber or plastic items vibrating as they try to seal. Those squeeze to drain water drains on bottom airboxes can make some sounds also. Wierd stuff. Intake manifolds. Go find em.
