Restoration. Paint Stripper.

Alright, So I got my Trike from my GrandFather, and he painted all camo, I mean every little piece got painted, Now I want it to be All original, except for maybe the tires, love my super swampers, xD. Anyway, I was looking for the best way to do A complete re-paint. Any ideas?

I have a 250sx that was camo and i just used the spray stripper!!

Why would you ever want to remove the camo? Get yourself some camo cloths and the cops would never see you when your riding down the road...lol!!!

AIRCRAFT STRIPPER...a little pricey but works great and doesnt pit aluminum,get at any autparts store

if its the plastics i wouldnt use real heavy aircraft paint stripper, it might eat the plastic. if it is the plastic try borrowing a powerfull gas operated pressure washer, a guy on here had a ytm all spray painted black. he just used the pressure washer, boom looked like new.

In all seriousness, you could just repaint it overtop of the camo so that you don't damage what's underneath.

If it rattle can paint,laquer thinner will wipe it off and im pretty sure stripper wont hurt plastic(it comes in a plastic container) just dont leave it on too long or let it dry out

i used heavy duty paint stripper on my plastics with no problems what so ever...well aside from the fact that I couldnt get all the paint off. it was like a latex house paint, real thick stuff

Deffinately use a pressure washer on the plastic. Paint stripped might not melt the plastic but it will make it more brittle or weaken it.

pain striper is not realy that good of a idea unless you trow your trike under water after to neutralize it the residue left behinde can ruin any paint you put over it rinseing it with a hose is not enough i used to work at a auto body shop i got to watch my boss paint a car 5 times before the paint stuck and it still looked bad

there are two diffent types of paint striper. becareful not to use aircraft striper for metal on your plastic otherwise it will eat the plastic or warp it real bad. and also make sure you wash it down real good with hot soap and water.

Then polish it out really good.

You can get as much off with the pressure washer and then wetsand and polish it just like paint. I have made many old [painted plastic tanks look like new doing this.
