I am going to look at a 200S this weekend. He said he rebuilt the upper end this summer but the pull start is broken. Since it doesn't have a true manual clutch will it work to push the shift lever down to actuate the clutch to push start it? Just want to hear it run before I buy it, not going to drive it like this like some people do. Also are the pull starts on the 185S and 200S the same, there is a 185 engine I will be picking up along the way.

Sweet, can't wait to have my 200X going again. The 200S will be donating is engine, then the 185S engine can go in the 200S. I figured it would work to hold down the shifter but its 200 miles away and I didn't want to get there only to not be able to see it run or test the compression.

Any chance of you making the drive to Bundy Hill in April?

I'd love to but the driver's responsibility fee's got me by the balls. I just drive around up north here in the sticks on my trike. 2012 and if the world doesn't end I should be back on the road (legally) by then.
I think Rose City is close enough I might make that one but Bundy Hill is almost 300 miles away.

I second the push start thing. We found out when my brothers 200s ha the pull start seize up with mud and were towing it back to the car with my dirt bike. And the 185 pull start does fit as well. Let us know how the bike turns out!

Push start works, but you'll definitely get tired of it quick. My 200s was sitting all winter and I decided to get it out for a ride, pull start rope broke, so I had to push it. Highly recommended as a 2 man job, but you can do it as a one man band if you've got the cajones!

yea put it in neutral start pusing and when your rolling real good jump on the bike, as your jumping yourt but down ont he seat pop it into gear. it should cause the rear tires to grab and turn the motor and fire right off.

^^^Do not do that.^^^
C'mon Oscar. I'm sure he wants his transmission to last a little while.
Put the trike in third gear. Pick it up from the grab bar and walk it forward as fast as you can. Drop it on the wheels when you're going as fast as you can and push down on the grab bar while continuing to keep it going forward. Do this where there isn't a whole lot of things around for the trike to take off into should it get away from you.
