This project is coming in for a landing. I am a novice tuner, so I'm asking for a baseline to get started on jetting the carb I bought for my 350X project. Here are the details on the build:

NOS Crate Motor (no mods; never fired)
K&N Air Filter (stock air box)
Stock Header w/Supertrapp Silencer and Mid-pipe
87 Octane Pump Gas
Riding Elevation: 4,300'
Dry Climate
Carb: 2001 OEM Honda 400EX
Planning to install a dial-a-jet.

What main jet should I start with?
What pilot jet should I start with?
A/F screw?
What clip on the needle?
400EX carb experts - anything special I need to do to install this carb?

Where can I order jets? What range should I have on hand?

Try a 165 main, 42 pilot, and needle on the middle notch...seems to be what most guys run around here...should get you close.

I believe its a 142 main and 38 pilot..but your stock 350x carb should have the 42 pilot in it.
