I am trying to get the front brakes correct on my 86 r, someone before me had put 85 brakes on it, i have what i believe to be a 86 caliper (with no cooling fins) it has only one caliper slide hole on the top of the caliper and it appears the pads would slide into a grove on the caliper bracket to hold the other side in (similar to a 350x but the mounting holes are diffrent) bike bandit shows the break down for 85 brakes on the 86 so i know they are wrong but i just got a 86 (maybe) caliper bracket off ebay and it doesnt have the pad grove in it and it has two slide pin holes and my caliper does not. is my caliper wrong or is it the bracket or am i missing something else?

I'm pretty sure you got an 85 bracket if it has 2 slide pins.

Are the brake pads diffrent 85 to 86 ? does the 86 pad get held in place by one pin or two like the 85? i think i might have a trx caliper, anyone out there have an 86 that can take a pix of the front caliper set up for me i cant find anything on the good old world wide web...

Ok so im pretty sure i have the correct caliper it is deff a one pin caliper, also all the trx calipers i have ever seen have an angled bleeder screw and mine straight, so i guess the search is back on for an 86 caliper bracket......anyone out there got one for sale?:D
