Where the red arrow is. The procedure is on pages 3-5 and 3-6 of the shop manual.

For some 1 with out a feeler gauge what is the width of paper? That would do also right?

Paper comes in different thicknesses. Feeler gauges are cheap - buy them and do the job correct the first time.

I did this for the first time this weekend. It was on my 200x, so very similar.

I really want to say you need to go buy a feeler set. I bought one at ace hardware for $3.50. Its just a small set, but you want the small set. The .002 was the smallest size and extremely thin. I'm sure trying it with paper would just piss you off more than anything and not be accurate at all.

I had an extra set of hands and they almost seemed needed. But again I had little idea of what i was doing.

The feeler didn't want to go in at all, I suggest loosening the lock nut and backing the pin out so you can easily get the feeler in. Once your in, its pretty easy. Tighten the rod till you cant move the feeler, then back it off just enough to be able to move the feeler. Tighten the lock nut, remove feeler and your done with that side.

btw I did this on my 200x because of some excessive top end noise. When I opened the intake cover to adjust the valve, the rod and nut were missing.... I was like :wondering Thats not good. By some amazing luck the rod and nut were still sitting in the head, and with some magnets and wire I was able to retrieve the parts.

Needless to say the bike sounds amazingly quiet now.
