I know the 200sx is a quad and maybe I should have posted this in the quad section but sense it is intended to be swapped into a trike I think its fit for trikesylvania.:wondering Ok does anyone have any experience with the 200sx engines? They are very similar to the 185/200 engines but have a few differences there chain drive, have reverse,no low range, and electric start tucked up close to the back of the cylinder. The head on them looks different too but im not sure if its just visual and not mechanicaly different. So back to the point I think this would be a sweet little engine to use for a auto-x conversion! Anyone used this engine in a trike??

I don't think they would be a direct bolt in for the '83-85 200x. They might fit the '86-87 200x frame, but I'm not 100% sure.

I say if you have it give it a shot ... a auto-x with reverse would be sweet... are they electric start too?

:Dyes they are electric start and themoter is based on the 86-87 200x ,with the auto clucth and reverse insteadof 6th gear they should fit in a 86-87 x without to much trouble ,have a project like this in the wings just haven't had time to start on it ,good luck post pics if you get started on this .

I think I may have found a 86-87 200x roller for $150 so we'll see. Second gen auto-x sounds sweet to me. Just had this vision last night looking at a 200sx on CL and it got my gears in my head turning.

:Dthe 200sx has decent power for its size but is not real fast ,gearing :wondering, the main issue with the chain is no maintance or to many donuts will couse it to come loose and hit the case very commen to find the case has JB on it you can make a custom casesaver . mine gets used a lot everyone seems to like the little quad!

I am in process of building one right know. The 200sx motor fits with very little modifications, I couldn't tell how it performs as it's not finished yet but hopefully soon.
