Officially have started the rebuild of my 350x, new bearing carrier showed up to replace the factory one that I had chewed up and fixed with jb weld

after taking the axle out realized the the swingarm bolt bearings and bushings were completely shot so went and got those from the local atv shop cause my brother couldn't seem to find them online. And after about 3 hours af chiseling and cussing we got the old bearing races out. Had to heat up the carrier with the acetylene torch so I hit the whole carrier with a coat of black rustolelum paint for now. kinda like the look of the black swinger but I'm going to have it PC'd either white or silver haven't decided.
At the moment I have an unicycle

and this is how many projects we have going on in the shop at the moment
My brothers 250R, my 350X and my 400ex

thats my dad's project lol. Its a 66 ford f-260 factory 4x4 he picked it up for a few hundred bucks has the old school 352 in it and a blown up dana 60 rear. He's going to put a built 427 and a dana 70 dually rear end under it.

things kind of stalled out on this after I got my 400ex going and I was riding it more, I've almost parted this out on more than one occasion over the last year but after having to sell my 400ex to cover car repairs I put my sights back on this. Over the summer my dad found me a tank for it which essentially rescued it. Progress has been slow because I've had school and yada yada and I live 3 hours away from it now, leaving my brother to do most of the real work as it starts happening. I picked up a good frame from a guy over break, have ordered new neck bearings and the gusset kit from TPC. Lacking the skill and equipment I'm having it welded up professionally by a friend of the family then having it powdercoated.
Here are the current plans
-restoring a solid but beat-up tank - White (near OEM restore)
-TPC Gusset kit (ordered)
- Powdercoat
Frame, swinger, front hub - Silver
Axle - Black
Rear hubs and motor mounts - Red
Foot pegs, brake pedal - Black
- Renthal handle bars (have them thanks a ton to the folks at renthal who hooked me up after I had an older set break while riding)
- Rebuild front forks with progressive springs
- polish triples
once tank is finished being restored, frame is welded, parts are powdered I will be able to get it riding again for the end of march
once money allows future plans are
New Maier red rear plastics
Seat Cover
have rear shock rebuilt/setup for me
tear down engine and inspect/replace bearings, gears that may need it. Piston, rings, and bore if needed.
Paint engine
Hopefully by the end of next year it'll be 100% I'll try to update with pics as I get them.

the only work I need him to do is finishing the prep on the tank so I can get it painted. The rest is muling the parts around to the various places to get the work done. And I know he wants me to have it done cause he is going to want to ride the green machine and I'm not really a fan of riding his 250R. Although the last time I rode it was right after he bent the crap out of the handlebars.

Waterproof grease should be pouring out of that swingarm/carrier.......
Make it easy to turn and make it last!

Falloutboy might have some. I might be going up there this weekend so I'll see what I can do.

lol. That one works, but the other one needs a battery IIRC. They tend to get used for workbenches more than they do for their inteded purpose... so that is probably part of it.

Updates!
TPC kit got here, and is now welded up and just about ready to go. Still needs the motor mount welded back on. Due to money and the fact I want to ride when I'm there in a couple weeks, paint/powder coat is going to have to wait until a later point.
Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure. (http://imgur.com/a/nWlRg#0)

Looking good. Did you check to see if your rear master and hoses clear the gusset? I had to do a little trimming to get mine to fit. I will have to look when I get a chance this weekend, but when I was assembling my 350 I wished I had put an access hole in one as well for an extension and socket. I think it was for the upper shock mount. I will look at the trike and let you know. Of course I figured that out AFTER I had it powder coated, so I did not do it, but I remember thinking that it would be a lot easier if I did.

Looks great!, yes, you do have to check the master and also the exhaust. And make sure that one engine mount has some strength to it.

This is how I trimmed the gusset for the master
http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x205/murfman_photo/ATCs/DSC02541.jpg
If I were to do it again I would put a hole in the gusset right above it for access to the upper shock mount bolt with an extension

few pictures of the nearly finished bike. Leaving the tank primer grey for the time being, have the stuff to do it right but waiting for the weather to get warmer. Still need to put the grab bar and petcock, and have to weld one of the inside mounts to the gas tank. Going to try to ride it tomorrow, and a full shake down saturday.

The cat supervised, as cats do best. Mark did most of the helping, we're probably just going to go out Spinreel and stick close to the entrance while we check and adjust.
So the Renthal bars are slightly too narrow for the clamps... damn. Guess I'll have to figure something out soon. But I did get to ride it a little bit on the street in front of the house and I forgot how easy it is to get that front tire in the air @_@. Weather providing, we are hitting the sand tomorrow am.
