Kicker shaft for 86 200x.... Breakage ?

I keep hearing about these kicker shafts snapping. How common is this? Also, If I go to a wiseco high comp. .20 piston will I be ok? Either way Its a stock piston set-up with the correct amount of compression. It seems like it would be awfully had to snap a kicker shaft on this thing. I am sure it does not have the 19mm shaft, but I'll have to check tomarrow morning. Does anyone know where or who may have the 19mm 87 kicker shaft? I suppose I would need the 97 clutch cover to, or have to machine the 86 clutch cover to allow an 87 kicker shaft seal? Any input?

For the swap you would need the cover or machine it yes.

I havn't snapped mine yet, and it's been abused alot over the years. I am worried about it, as i've seen one that was snapped. I'm about to install my decompression cable, and that should ease the problem.

They snap easy. I buy up every 87 shaft I see.

Running the decompression cable is a must, it's there for a reason.
