hey im rebuilding my 84 225DX and im having some trouble with the rear brakes. it seems that im missing the plate, back up (part number 6 on most schematics) so i kinda made my own and it doesnt seem to be working out. the hand brake doesnt seem to recoil after you squeeze it. anyone have any ideas for the hand brake or wat to use to replace that plate thing

Does it retract using the foot brake? If so, I would check the cable going to the front.

Try oiling the cable, here's the baggie and rubber band way.
