just ride it the way it is, its always nice to ride something and not having to worry about scratching it.

Bring it back to glory, cause your other one is looking for a bit of company. Besides, projects are lots of fun with a great feeling of accomplishment when done.

Got the motor out,,, thats the easy part! What scares the hell out of me is tackling the bottom end becuese it needs crank bearings, I did this once before with a freind when I was younger on a rm suzuki we got it to work but it leaked oil in the middle of the cases what a pain in the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro!! dont know if I should try again or not.

yeah just split it man.. its not a big deal. If the cases are good it wont leak. Just break the engine down into sub-assemblies... cylinder, clutch, trans, etc.. and it becomes very simple.. and besides your are probably a better mechanic now than you were back then..

If by some chance you know or can find out the bearing numbers, you can just get bearings from Timken. I don't know about a Tri Z in particular, but the bearings I took out of my 250R had a number on the race, and I went to a local shop and just bought the bearings. I had to buy the seals at the dealership, so I saved some money, and got a quality bearing, versus the kits sold everywhere online. Just my two cents.
