Looks like that bike will come out nice just from your starting pictures. The rims look like they are in good shape. How much did you pay? How's it run?

Very nice Job!!

Your oil filter is actually an oil screen and you have to pull the case cover to get to it. It is at the bottom about center, kinda hides behind the gasket.

i paid $500, does anybddy make a plastic tank for my bike? the stock one is rusted and has already rusted through and was repaired. I really wanted a 350x, but for the price and ease of restation I couldn't agrue. this is gonna cost alot less than my 250r to restore(that needed almost everything. 350x's around here go for $1800-2200 in mint shape, garbage ones $1000. I'm not gonna race modify it like I did the 250r, just a woods rider. three things left, new exhaust and works rear shock, I'd like to get a bigger carb too, but nobody makes one.

forogt to menton is runs perfectly, I was doing donuts and wheelies the day I got it, unfortunitly I showed them up when I rode the guys(who I bought it from) modified warrior, but thats ok, when the x is done I'll be good competition. after this bike is done, I'm gonna put my golfcart back together(trx250r).

I already ordered one, $150, its real hard to find 86 parts on eaby. if its not discontinued, I'm gonna try to buy a whole motor, I was wondering if its possible to weld the piece back in, I put the piece in and everything lines up

I never was able to find plastic tanks for the 86's. Just keep checking e-bay. I finally found a really nice 87 tank on there.

the dg excellerator exhaust nobody knows if it exists. the dealer I ordered it from called dg and they said, they listed it but never made any. I looking for a bigger carb, I aboulsutly don't want a cobra exhaust, anybody made a exhaust say with cobra header pipe and universal e-series, suppertrapp, etc? well heres for the very good news he located me a new +4 durablue axle, if he could find another I'd buy that also. since I have to repair the motor I decided to go full engine tilt, cam, vavles, port/polished/ high comp. piston. the biggest problem with this would be the carb and exhust what good is a killer motor that doesn't breath or exhale. I'm definity going with a works rear shock, its gonna be a killer bike when done.
