if a member who has one would take the time to measur the drive cable for me it would be greatly appreciated. Ive had the speedo and drive gear along time, just never got around to getting a cable. Its time to install it.

awsome man, much appreciate the extra effort with the pics. do you mean 28 3/4"?? to where the metal collar and your thumbtip meet?? I saw a company on ebay making custom length cables for speedos, i guess i will check them out. any other suggestions? i have some drive cables for a 200 bigred trip meter. not sure if they would work. the tires are the same size, so the drive gear should be the same?? i will have to measure one and see if it is long enough. Couldnt hurt to try.

Yeah, I meant 28 3/4 inches.
I measured another cable I have that is for a 185-S, 200es,m,s and it is much shorter. Something like 22 and a half I think it was.
If you have the correct drive gear for the es/sx it don't matter what it is driving, a speedo or the trip meter.
But (as you probably already know) you can not swap the 185-S, 200es,s m onto the 85/86 bigreds or sx machines because the rotation will be backwards.
