ok so both my 200x's refuse to run. my 1986 200x was running great for about an hour and a half. then all of a sudden it died and when i went to start it it was like it was very flooded. it would start and rev up then just die.

and now for my 85 200x. i just got done putting new rings timming chain and new gaskets and o-rings in the top end. the bike started easy at first but now it is very hard to start but runs very good by hard to start i meen i have to kick it about 10-15 times repeditively just to get it to start.

if anybody has any idea what could be causing this please let me know. i plan on checking every thing out tomorrow its just to cold outside to work on them tonight.

i'll try that on the 86 but the 85 has a brand new carb that was on my brothers 200x and a new spark plug

Valves might be out of specs on the 85...

Did your brother re Jet the carb at all, maybe your pilot Jet is too big? Choke sticking?

the carb is 100% stock and i think do need to adjust the valves but my feeler guage only goes to .203mm (.008in) and the shop manuel says that it should be set at .08mm (.003in)

You should get a feeler guage to check your valves. Valves are often a reason why an engine is hard to start when its hot but there might be some other reasons also...

i think i know what is causing it and what it will take to fix my new issue but just want to make sure. the kicker lever on my 85 200x will not return when i try to start it. the cause is the spring in side the crank case correct? if so where can i get a new stronger one. also can i damage any thing farther by still using it
