View Full Version : best exhaust for a 86 200x

who makes the best exhaust for a 86 200x, I don't want a cobra or dg(unless its the new type), they are way too loud and from what I hear don't produce any major power gains. Also, my header is rusted on the the head, how to get it off?

well im pretty sure DG and cobra are your only choices, but the dg xccelerator ive heard is quite good condidering its a dg, and its available for the 86-87 200x, but will cost you $300 with spark arrestor and $265 without it at dennis kirk.

I had a stock header stuch to the head on an 86 200x. We kept soaking it in Liquid Wrench Super penetrating oil. With a little persuasion(hammer) it finally came off.

I just ordered a dg excellerator, $262 with shipping. I'm gonna try penatating oil tommorow. anybody want to a stock tool box off a 86 200x, it has all mounts, but no lid and tools, I'm not gonna be using it.

you should have spent the extra $40 for the spark arrestor, it will sound much better with one.

it is the one with the spark arrester. I ordered it from where I buy alot of used parts, they always seem to hook me up good.

I have a custom trinity pipe and header....Back in the day 3 wheeler magazine wanted to do a pipe shootout for the 200x and harry at trinity heard about it made a pipe just for that and I have it! It got second place in the shootout.....pretty cool to own some 1 of a kind parts from trinity

I think the Cobra's are excellent for 200X's.

Ill have pics of my trinity stuff on my 200x and tecate really soon....My uncle also has a 250r ATC that was tricked out by harry at trinity...Ill try and get some pics of that too
