I hear there is a high low gear setting on these things, but for the life of me i can't find it. It says 1985 on the frame, 200m on the fenders. I'm starting to wounder if I'm looking in all the wrong spots or this isn't the original engine. It has a pull start and electric start, semi auto clutch.

Where can i find this high/low setting at?

The 200m didn't have hi-lo to the best of my knowledge. Only the 90, 110, 125m, and 200 BR had it.

The 200M had electric start with a recoil backup, but no hi-lo gearbox. those were on the big red 200's and up if i remember correctly. so like hondamaniac said keep it in a low gear and throttle to the bar!!!

where is the hi/low gear chaing lever on it? I've found something on mine that looks like a lever should go on it, just a tiny thinh with splines near the shifter

That just might be a gear indicator, like whatgear you're in.
They have those little red and white pointer caps at beatrice cycle for like a buck or 2. and will tell you if you are in neutral for safe starting.

You can also drool at the sales brochures on this site and see all the hype and pictures of brand new trikes and what they came with.

I've had a few hi lo machines and it's really no big loss. 90's, 110's and 84 200 es had hi lo like my trail 90.

On the 90 and 110, there's a little case on the side the shape of a twinkie that says 'H - L' with a red tipped lever underneath.

Seems like an add on because someone took a gear or 2 out of one of mine before I got it and it still ran.

Wonder if you could bolt one of those up to your M?

I'd leave 'em in hi and just putt around in 2nd gear anyway.

now 10 speeds in reverse might come in handy once in a lifetime to back out of a mudpuddle but not sure the chain drives had reverse.
and also pretty sure you didn;t have more than one reverse speed anyway.

Fun to think about tho.

your trike will pull a full sized truck in first gear and high gear is way fast enough to get into trouble, but 10 speeds does have some bragging rights.

thats not a dump question, my buddy asked whats the fuel to oil ratio is in his 200m. He said it was smoking badly, I hard time telling it was a four stroke.
