Has anyone ever heard of an indian 3 wheeler? Found one on c list, says it's a conversion done by manco? It looks like it's about the size of an Atc70. I will have link to it soon

I have seen that as well. Its a Manco trike. I believe there is at least once member on there with one restored. I'm not sure if Indian really made those with Manco or if Indian owned Manco.

The Indian/Italjet on Pawnstart is way overpriced and not as rare as the Resto guy said.

Sorry to the hopefulls...
Indian ran from 1901 thru 53
The indian name was used for imports from 63 thru 77
Brand revival came in 99 and lasted until 03
2'nd revival started in 06
82 would not be a possability unless someone transplanted a motor...
also like Stud said, Indian dirt bikes arent as rare as their 15 min of fame on Pawn Stars makes them out to be... they are around if you look hard enough, you see a few 100's on eBay from time to time, but then I guess its how you look at it, but to me its like buying a 50cc chopper scooter and calling it a mini Harley, it may have a decal but it doesnt have the bloodline to match...

I know it's hard to tell what type of condition it's in from that picture, but is it worth 300$

I remember reading that indian had there name on some trikes made by manco. There weren't alot with the indian name. No idea if they carried any special "indian only" serial numbers, just mainly a decal change for what I know. There were several rounds of indian trade name battles. The original indian was called the "Indian Motocycle Company" or something close to that effect. During the 70's, it was called the "Indian Motorcycle Company" and that was what the main battle was when they were trying to revive the indian motorcycle brand, was who actually held the rites to the Indian name. It took a couple years to settle before they could even start to make new indian motorcycles. And the first new indians, had S&S engines. It was 3 or 4 years before they came out with a proprietary indian engine, and then a year or 2 later the company had gone under.

I think it would be worth it. the Manco is some what rare, they are fun to ride, and who know maybe it is a weird conversion. Hard to tell from the pics.

Sort of looks like my Agway Rustler, they were made by Manco as was the Quester. Great American made trikes. I have the Rustler 10. I only wish they had front suspension. They made a 5hp, 8hp, and 10hp. The good thing about them is they are an easy fix with inexpensive American made parts commonly used on Lawn Mowers, Snow Blowers, Tillers, etc. They have a Comet style clutch system. My Rustler 10 will do over 40mph, not a racer but still fun and unique!

I bought one of the Indian dirt bike recently and after some research I found they aren't that rare ( I found 2 within driving distance from me, more than I've found of 250R's, Tri-Z's or Tecate 2 liquid cooled in that distance). As far as being worth more than a Honda, 1 was a non running rust bucket at $75 and the other was pretty good shape for $700. Mine is in better shape, original and runs great (rode it over the weekend) and I traded into it for about $500. The MM5A on pawn starts was a farce, worth a max of $2500 after the $4500 restore. I haven't seen that restorer guy on the show since. NOS parts for the Indians are cheap and avilable from the guy who bought out Indian after the 60's-70's go. Here's a link, http://motors.shop.ebay.com/blackwidow340/m.html?_nkw=indian&_sacat=&_odkw=&_osacat=0&bkBtn=&_trksid=p3911.m270.l1313 I wish I could buy NOS parts for my trikes or Z50R for those prices. The trike is super cool for a collection. I would just all over one for $300 in my area but I wouldn't expect to make a profit on resale.

I posted on that trike in the Ebay/CL section last week but nobody commented. http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php?122982-Indian-three-wheelerThen the CL add was taken down so I thought it was sold, then a day or two later it was back up again. I thought someone on here would buy it but it doesnt seem like anything too special.

I'm gonna pass on it. The possibility of being rare is what had me interested. I would rather have an atc70

Hey there. Link won't work but I saw that posted for the last couple weeks.
I thought it was in EUGene and I could look at it for you.
I flashed on the pawn star show too but I'm old and cranky and am tripping over trikes right now.

That's the first one I actually saw that has the Indian decal. It is a Manco, just like their Rustler 305 or Quester 305. Nice find. These things are great for the grandkids! Love the automatic clutch and easy to use foot brake for the little ones! Thanks for sharing.

I have a 1974 ME 100 not a 3 wheeler but an Indian just the same. Well the import version anyway. I believe there were three different company`s that furnished engines to Indian in the early 70`s. 133242133243
