Now this didn't all just fit right together , I ordered a 85 intake boot so the 36mm carb would fit. Wrong with the length and offset of the intake with the spacer it pushed the carb into the exhaust . Looked and looked online and found nothing . So i went to PR racing ( power rider ) and told the guys there of my problem . He said here i got something that might help you out , a intake boot off of i don't have no clue but it was shorter and off set to the Right ! Everything then fit together perfect , almost like it was oem that way. Haven't taken it for a spin yet but she fired right up and sounds great !

I just wanted to bring this up because as of last night i didn't think i was going to be able to put this carb with the reed spacer on this trike, i'm glad i didnt give up! :p

Very nice upgrade for the 84 R. What modifications do you have done to your machine? I think that a 36mm would be a lot of carb for a 250cc bore, even with pipe, and free flowing filter, right? Unless you have a hondaline 300 or something. Is that carb a Keihin PWK airstriker? Let us know how she runs! Thanks for the info!

it's not that it won't work, but that carb is kind of big for what u have. it will still work though.

You got a FL350 intake. And the carb is a quadvent PJ by the looks of it

That carb should work nicely if you jet it correctly. I got a 39mm pwk on my 250R and it was one of the best upgrades that I've done to it. Your defenitly gonna notice a difference in power

Yea. When you think about it tho it's really not that big compared to the 85-86 R's running the 34mm . I jumped my Banshee from 26mm up to 34mm with reed spacers and that shee will damn near pull your arms off once it gets traction. I can't wait to take this for a spin but right now it's down due to the previous owner welding the shift lever to the shift shaft and the weld broke. So i should have that all back together today , had to wait on my new shaft and seal to get in. I'll post pictures of it soon , it was a barn find . Found this on the carb . .
"Keihin PWK 36mm Quad Vent:
Has the same body and outside openings dimensions as the 38mm, but a smaller bore center. Smaller bores make it easier for engines to pull air through the carb at a faster velocity. This usually translates into borrowing top end performance and giving to improved bottom end. On 250cc engines, 36mm is a great trail and tight MX carb."

Looks as a PJ, Pwk dont look that way. Check the slide. Pwk has a D-shaped slide
its a airstricker take the filter off and take a pic of were it goes then ill know for sure

Julle beat me to it, looks like it's off of an FL350 Pilot.

FL350 was an Odyssey, FL400 was a Pilot :-)

Sorry to be a pest but that carb body aint a PWK. The Pwk dont have the Keihin logo written verticaly on the slide body, its to thinn there. Airstrykers are only avalible in 35mm and 38mm PWK and both are quadvented! Quadvent is avalible in 36mm. That is a PJ quadvent

You are right . . Airstriker also has the brass idle screw , this does not . I'm 99.9 % sure it's a 36mm quadvent carb , Ill post the part number for it once i get back out to the garage.

I measured the carb bore at the middle neck , it measured 35.84MM . It is a PJ Keihin 36mm carb but not an airstriker carb , All i know is it runs great and fires right up with this carb on it.
