long story short.. my buddy has a blaster with a 84 t3 motor in it.. it dies today and acted like the motor was locked up, got it home, and pulled the head off, cylinder looks mint, figured out where the scraping noise was coming from, pulled the stator cover off and there was chunks of magnet scatterd all over the inside,
We have to get apuller to get everything apart, so were wondering what other stators will work?? since t3 stuff is hard to find here

you can get a new stator and flywheel thru ricky stator. the kx set up will work, but you need both the kx stator and flywheel. the kx flywheel will not work with the kxt stator. or depending on how much money you want you spend, you could always get a pvl ignition but they run some bucks.

If your using the kx stator/flywheel you also need the kx cdi too.

ok thanks guys. he dont have big bucks to spend right now he just stuck alot of money into this blaster/t3.. msr bars and grips, +4 swing arm +4 axle diamond j widening kit, new clutch, new kicker and kick start shaft, go to ride it with the studded tires yesterday and the stator must have exploded

yeah common issue with the stock t3 flywheels. them magnets are just glued on. the kx flywheel is much more reliable seeing is how the magnets are screwed on. you just wont be able to run lights with the kx set-up, cuz there is no lighting coil.

yeah that much i knew, but since the motor is in a blaster and hes running a pod filter, there is room for a battery, he has led lights on it so it would be as simple as a atv battery in it to run just the lights when we ride at night which isnt much... here is the damage to the magnet.....

You might want to check with Jeswinehart to see if he has any rebuilt flywheels on hand.

A rebuilt flywheel is better.

Unfortunately I am basically out of full sets of magnets and that one, that is going to take all 4 magnets, or it would be a easy repair.
Another member sent me pictures last night of the carnage a loose magnet or 2 will do.
What a crying shame.
I am supposed to be getting in some other fly wheels to have so hope fully in the near future I will have some extra magnets on hand.

I sure appreciate the offer aric but will decline. The magnets are what is so stinking hard to get.
I can make the magnets (shape, weight and basic composition using atomized iron) but the process of magnetizing them to the strength of a rare earth magnet eludes me, for now.
