You need a shifter shaft.

You need to replace the shifter shaft. KLT110s were known for breaking their shifter shafts or the splines stripping off. Get a shop manual for a klt110 and a shifter shaft and the clutch side, sidecover gasket and get busy.

Shift shaft probly 50 bucks on ebay takes about 15-30 mins if you know what you are doing. Alot easier than you might think

May as well slap a new seal in there while you are at it. I couldn't find one on Ebay so good luck!

I dont think the KLT 110 was kawasaki's only machine that this happens to. I bought a KLT 200, and that had a broken shifter shaft, and I have heard numerous other complaints from this happening on the kawasaki's. I wonder if they just had a bad design, or if the materials they used were junk, or a combination of both?

There isn't much sticking out, the seal would melt and I doubt it would hold.
Do it once, do it right........

Yes replace the seal when you do the job. My first trike was a KLT. My shifter shaft stripped......replaced easy job to do.
don try to weld that
