The 250ES or the YT175? I can only get one awesome set of tires right now. Both have basic knobbies. Seems like the YT175 will be able to go through a lot more snow with a good set of tires than the Big Red. But I love electric start when its in the single digits and I feel like going for a ride.

The Big Red for sure! Far more versatile machine. With good tires you will be surprized at just how much you can actually go through!

Big Red without a doubt, the extra weight will help and elec. starts always nice. Even with new tires I think the YT175 would still get stuck enough to take the fun out of it.

Well I re-jetted the YT175 for winter. And it rips in the snow. The both have knobbies on them and the YT175 will go where the Big Red won't even think about going with their current tires. The YT175 according to the service manual only weights 226 lbs. It floats over everything and has lots of RPMs if I start getting slowed down. The weight balance of the YT175 feels a little funny when you first ride it since it feels like 75% of its weight over the rear wheel but in winter it is amazing. And on the trails its way easier to throw around the YT175.

Might still put the tires on the Big Red since the YT175 barely seems to need new tires. It's a tough call.
