After calling the seller, and cit chatting for awhile, I went to the bank, grabbed the truck, and decided to go on a little road trip. I plugged his address and off i went.
It was around a 3 hour drive to his place and i was anxious the entire way there. When i showed up to his place, i saw the 350x in the back of his truck. We introduced ourselves and started talking about the 350x. He told me what he has done to the bike since he got it and how hard it can be to start. He jumped on it and after about three kicks it was good to go. He took it for a ride around his hard and did a few wheelies for me. I was amazed. He stopped and told me to jump on. He was very patient with me, and explained to me how to drive a manual atv/atc. Needless to say i let the clutch out too fast and i stalled right away. hah. He started it back up and i took it for a ride around his yard. Since i was afraid of stalling and wrecking the bike, i didnt even take it out of first haha. typical noob move. anyway...
so after driving around on the 350x for a bit, he showed me the 250r. the 250r was in a little worse shape then the 350x, but i only say that because the rear plastics are cracked. he explained to me that the 250r is a lot easier to start and the previous owner must have done some major clutch work because the clutch lever is much harder to pull then the 350x. I was easily able to start the 250r compared to the 350x, and i took it for a little ride around his hard. I must say i was not really impressed with the 250r. it seemed sluggish compared to the 350x.
Once i stopped, he recommended we take them for a little ride. He asked which bike i would like to ride and i asked to ride the 250r. I choose the 250r because i knew that, when i stalled, i would actually be able to restart the bike. haha. anyway, we drove around 1/4 mile around his neighborhood, and once i cleared the 250r's throat, it was just pure power. wow. it was just awesome. I was truly impressed. I knew what bike i wanted. While we were driving around, the 350x started to bog down and loose power. he did know what was wrong with it. I suspected it was just running rich, or some bad gas was being circulated through the bike.
when we got back to his place, we stopped and talked about the 350x and why it maybe acting funny. Honestly, i wasn't really concerned with it bogging. I knew that from the start i wanted the 350x, and it sounded like/looked like it was running rich. Seemed like a simple fix to me.
Anyway, i asked him if he would be willing to sell me both bikes. He said of course for the right price. we got to talking, threw some numbers around and worked out a deal. He wanted $1900 for both the bikes.
$1000 for the 350x
$900 for the 250r
I was able to buy them both for $1600
So i figure $800 a bike. Not too bad if you ask me.
In case anyone is wondering about the problem with the 350x... I decided to take the carb off the 350x and put it on my 250sx and buy a new TRX 400ex carb to put on the 350x. i LOVE the 400ex carb.
anyway... finally time for pictures!!

There are still a few things i would like to do to make them even better then they already are. Like a new headlight for the 350x (the metal has rusted out so one light doesn't work) and find a tail light for the 250r.
