There are a few 200x's around Im looking into, any advice on what to look for? Are some of these pull start and some kickstart? I saw one on craigslist for 550 bucks thats a pullstart but its painted camo, which sucks. Then theres another one that looks brand new from the picks but says it needs a top end, wants 650 bucks.Whats the best way to test compression on these and what should it read?
Thanks

200x are all kick start, if its a pull start then its and auto-x conversion with the engine out of something like a 200s, meaning its an automatic clutch. Recently put one together, fun to ride around the yard at least have a few bugs to work out before we take it out. Where are you located? for 550 you should be able to get one that is fair-decent shape running and ridable at least here in Oregon you can.

Id keep looking. i found my 200x that was running good and rideble but needing a clutch for $450.

I personally wouldnt buy one if it doesnt run and ride. i dont trust people anymore.

sounds like you don't trust yourself to fix anything. If it's been converted that kinda sux cuz the 200x engine is a lot more fun than the automatic 200 or 185 engine. Just check the swing arm and its components(i.e. the mono shock, rear brakes, bearings and seals, rear sprocket and chain) check the engine for leaks or seepage. check gas tank for rust or crud, and check your wallet for plenty o cash. Good Luck, bra.

Try out the kick starter. Many will slip, it's a common problem

I bought a non running one for 550,these things must go cheaper other places than here, especially California or Arizona.I havent started to dive into it yet to try and figure out whats wrong with it.Waiting for the weather to get nicer and I need more space in garage.Have a pop up taking up 1 side and an 85 fl350 ody on a trailer on the other side with the 200x mixed in there somewhere, need more room! lol
