My 200x threw a valve into my cylinder and now it looks like this...........I'm looking for a new cylinder head. Anyone got one? And oh, any advice on the rebuild? 111743111744

all 185 and 200 head are interchangeable.200x head have larger fines, but all other will fit, they are sometime more easy to find

I Have a few 185-200 motors sure there's a good cyl..and possibly a head too if you need one, Just pay the shipping. Hard to say what let go on that...Could have jumped a few teeth on the Chain, Bad oil pump (but looks like there is an abundance of oil there) or Plain old overheated it! without going into too much detail :beer

ya i was really wonderin what could have happened. I was riding it for awhile(couple hours) in 5th for a lot of the time, and it definitely was getting oil else the piston would have seized, which it didn't. I was able to slide the cylinder right off. The valve just broke off and damaged the crap out of the cylinder head. I was thinking if I could get a good cylinder head I would replace the valves before I put it back together. Maybe it'll last longer that way. I suppose I was running too lean. It was also really cold that day too. Combination of running too lean with cold air can be bad sometimes, i think.....

Looks like something Could have been sucked down the intake and jammed the valve,,,very unlikely But has happened...That looks like a Clean break on the valve stem... That or Over revved the Crap out of it and it jumped a tooth or 2 on the cam timing...or a worn keeper on the valve let go,,,I'm no expert tho.

Happened to my 83 200X, sure ruins your day, you can, in a pinch, re-use the head, you will need to dremmel out the chunky bits where the valve has dug in. It will probably need new valve guides. Probably not really worth it if you can find a good used head.
I was lucky and scored a NOS cylinder head for mine so problem solved

I am going to rebuild this engine but I don't know if it would be better to just rebuild a used cylinder head or to find a good used one. Also need to tink about what to get for a new piston. I've been looking at wesico's website and I may just put one of their piston kits in. Anyone used wesico pistons?
