I have a Honda 125m that will run good until you hit half throttle then it will bog and die. I have clean the carb, change the gas, and put on a new pulse coil. None of that work. Please if anyone know anything give my a suggestion.

I've have cleaned all the jets in the carb and petcock, air filter looks almost new. Trike still run the same. Ideals good and will go fine until you hit half throttle.
Could this be something electrical? Or something wrong with the motor, like low compression???

check your exaust, and also you need a way to watch the firing during half throttle. advanced auto carry's a device that you plug into the coil then into onto the top of the plug. it had like a clear glass that allows an air gap for the spark to be visible. buy this, put it on and watch the firing. although you cannot read the voltage being produced, in the dark you can see a large flow difference if indeed the firing is the issue. ? just trying to help a fellow triker.

I dont see how the exaust has to do with anything, what should I check on it.
Thanks

If there is a stricture in the exhaust it will run fine at low speeds but not flow enoughf at more rpms and snuff it out like a banana in the tailpipe. Never had that prob on an atv, but very common with cars cat converters gettin plugged. To check the spark with the above mentioned spark tester (of which I have 2) would rule out wether or not it was ignition related or indeed a fuel delivery problem. Not seeing it I would have to say plugged main circuit or bad intake boot.

Checked the exhaustand that was fine. How much would a spark tester cost?

Just ordered a new CDI box maybe that will fix the problem.

MAYBE being the key word here. It doesnt sound to me that the CDI would be the problem here, but it's your trike.

this happened to me too. after cleaning carb and flushing tank changing fuel line changing petcock and spark plug it still bogged under a load. Turn out the freakin gas cap was clogged and wasnt breathing. Make sure the cap breathes. if it still bogs out get your gun.

My gas cap i knew was no breathing right so got a knew one, pick up a carb kit too. I also put a new piston in because it didnt the greatest compression, and i changed out the stator. After going through all of this the trike still will bog out after giving it full throttle. I feel like I went through everything on the trike, any suggestions?????
I got this 125m off craigslist so who knows what the guy before me did to it.

:mad:I bought the trike thinking it was just a carb problem but it turned into a money pit.

usualy cdis go all at once its still probly electrical have you tryed a dierent plug on some bikes when they start to go they get this exact problem also make shure the pulser coil has the right gap and its clean if its to far from the flywheel it will cut out when the rpms go up it took me a long time to figer that out

also if the valve is sticking a little you loss comp at high rpm

Thanks for all the help guys I forgot to say that while i replaced the piston i also replaced the valves, and got a new plug for it. Im thinking it is something electrical, Ive tired switching some parts off a 83 honda 110, but Are parts similar.

What should the gap be? Fairly close right?

as close as you can get it without touching

is your air box hooked up if its not your motor could lean out and die if your jetting is already lean if that dont help make a list of every thing you have checked and post it

List of Things I've Done
-Put in new carb kit
-Cleaned gas tank and pet cock
-Checked the exhaust and the air filter
-Got a new CDI and Pickup coil
-Put in new piston and and valves
Ive tried switching coil and other parts off a Honda 110
Still has the same problem, If the timimng is off could this happen. Could it be something electrical?

it has to be timing probly spark but you may have jumped a tooth on the cam chain my xr ran like crap for a year till i did a head rebuild and reset the chain never knew the real power of the motor till then after you check that if it still dont work
you must have made a mitake cause you will have checked every thing else

FIgured it out!!! Turns out that the main jet was to small and the card kit had the wrong jet also. So after drilling it out the trike works 10 times better, i have new jets ordared. Thanks for all the help guys.
