Carb swap for 1984 250r question . . .

Hi, Does anyone know if a 87 trx250r carb will bolt right onto to my 84 250r atc ? The guy that wants to sell it to me says it will work but i just want to double check.

you will have to really stretch the boot on the intake. When I did mine - I ran no airbox - I think there would be an issue with those boots as well. So no - not direct replacement - it will take some working of your existing parts to make it work.

ok , could i just get a k and n or uni pod air filter for it and take out the airbox ?

I also could get my hands on a 34mm carb off a 86 R atc , would that bolt right on ?

i run a 34pj(stock 86carb) with a fl 350 intake boot with a clampon filter with a outer were have no probs at all
