So, some of you know I am entertaining the idea of trading off my 86 200x for a sx or es. I was wanting your thoughts on how the utilities do in this type of terrain? My thoughts tell me the lighter faster spinning x. But as I've said I have no experience with either the sx or es.

the sx will ride on top the snow much better than the 200x, i rode my sx almost everyday last winter and it was a blast while my buddies quads would break threw and get stuck.

The ES would work better just for the fact it has 25 inch tires.

iv rode a 84 200x, 85 200x (son to be a 86 200x) , 82 250r, and a83 200e big red in winter, al were enjoyable, but the 200e did fair better in deeper snow, but on ice ( 200x's were studded) and so was the 200e.. the big red couldnt touch the 200x unless the snow was over 4" deep on the ice

judging from watching my buddies, i'd say x2 on the 250ES.
from what i can tell, the ES (utility) and SX (sport) are basicly the same (or am i wrong here?). although the SX should be a little lighter i would think. i know my friends ES is one heavy mother, but still eats it when most are stuck spinning away. lol
