Tri Z new owner Need Help

I just picked up a tri z, was told it was an 86 but from the color (black and red) I believe it is actually and 85. Is there something within the VIN that designates an 85 from an 86? Also I was wondering if someone had a picture of the clip or holder that holds the clutch cable to the engine, as mine is missing, I believe...any help would be greatly appreciated and I'm sure as I go forward with this thing I will have tons more questions.

hey i see you are in st charles mo, im just across the river by the airport! got a bunch of buddies that have trikes. pm sometime would like to get to know ya! anyway if your bike is a 6 speed its an 86, 5 speed is an 85. i got an 85 Z and an 85 R. let me know.

sounds like a 85 1/2 the 10th letter in the VIN should be a F... silver rims, the shrader valves sticks out of the top of the forks.. coolant bottle under the seat ..and the motor should say 38w by the kickstart
