Looking for information on the brakes on the 86 350x. I am in need of a new rear master cylinder, and a caliper. I wanted to find out what other machines that I could take caliper and MC from that will bolt onto the X.
I know about 450R rear master cylinder, but would like a bolt on solution if I can.

really the brackets arent that hard to fab up but if you wanted a truely bolt on solution you could grab this rebuilt caliper. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-REAR-BRAKE-CALIPER-85-1985-350x-350-x-atc-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3f055b5d16QQitemZ27067 2813334QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
and it hsouldnt be too hard to get this to work with it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-honda-400ex-rear-master-cylinder-400-ex-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem3f0575965bQQitemZ27067 4531931QQptZMotorsQ5fATVQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
just my 2 cents and i may just end getting a rebuild kit for mine.

If you guys don't like those, I have a gusset made for that lower right side that uses any 450R master, (and strengthens the frame...)
Grind off the old, mig weld in the new and it's ready to go.
I have pics if you want them.....
Allot of masters will not fit, something will interfere. Thats why I made the gusset, the bolts come through the back to secure it.
PS - A brand new 450R master is like 47$. Thats 20 years of riding for 47$...........

Maybe you should just do the one from the 450 Mike. Like Steve said, it doesn't take that long at all to weld one gusset in.

definitely gonna take you up on that one day dc. how much do you charge for that gusset?

The gusset has my usual curve to it and I weld 2 clear posts on it, then it's bolted from the back. Cutting down the 450R resevoir line or just running some fuel line gets the fluid there.
I gotta see how long they take me and show you guys some pics but I have to cut them out (.125 steel), form them, lathe up the spacers and mig weld them. I'll try and do them for 40$ a pop, weld on and go............
I'll get some pics.

Steve, can we do this in the next week or so? Let me know and I will bring it by. And if you could take care of the 2 horns for the seat as well at the same time I would aprreciate it. Thanks

What's wrong with the seat/shock? Need one?

The shock is toast and he's missing all the rubber grommets for the seat. He's also missing the two posts that the front of the seat mount to.

I may have those parts. I am hopefully using a different shock/rear end, not sure on the other parts. Have seats with bad covers, but my grommets were junk. Not sure if I will even have good ones for my build.
If you have pics or ebay links/other links to the parts you need, I can look through spares I have. Lots of small loose parts found while buying up frames trying to get a good one to get gusseted.

I need the 2 mounts that are hanging down under the rear fender:

I also need the 2 round ones that go in the holes in the back of the frame above the taillight, and the ones that hold the front (look right behind the gas tank in this pic):

If Ryan doesn't have them, I've seen the whole set on EBAY week after week for short $$
Funny thing is that Fabio bought me a set of these brackets a couple years ago - just being nice. Now I need them for my new build :D
Ryans 350X will get the 450R master cylinder gusset tomorrow, then yours Mike. I told Fabio that tomorrow eve or Sat. anytime is just fine......

Wanted to officially thank Dirtcrasher for the awesome job he did on my 350x today, installed the 450r gusset, fixed the 2 front seat mounts on my frame (ALL 350x owners check these), and even fixed a small hole on the frame!! What a stand up guy, unfortunately we discovered my exhaust is all buggered up and needs to be replaced :( Oh well it is just $$$$$, cant take it with me.

Well Dirtcrasher, got some new exhaust on the way. Should maybe have it tomorrow. Going to order a new rear caliper hopefully this week, and try to track down an 86 swingarm somewhere.
