Most people are probably going to think this is stupid but I am hoping the extra twist throttle for my 200X can be used on my Big Red.

I grew up on bikes and it's what I am comfortable with. I hate thumb throttles and I know a twist throttle on a Big Red is weird.

The problem is on the carburetor side. The 200x has a small cylindrical "pear" (the soldered lead end), that fits in the slide. The 250es has a larger pear and a 90 degree pipe that screws into the carb. Take a look at how the throttle cables go into your carbs. You will see that they are a lot different.

I bought a thumb throttle that was taken off of a late model 400ex quad and it is identical to my 85 250ES thumb throttle. That indicates to me that Honda thumb throttles for bigger engined ATV's have been the same for a long time. There are probably a lot of new twist throttles compatible with your 250ES.
